Ouch!

What do you get when you cross a clumsy little girl and an end table??

This big ole' goose egg, a bloody lip, LOTS of tears, and a very unhappy little girl...

Twice in one day! Woohoo!

We've had a pretty eventful day, so I decided to go ahead and blog on it while I take a break from cleaning.

The past few days Grant has been leveling out the back yard. We had 3 big dogs back there that dug tons of holes and ruined our back yard. So we got some dirt and the Bobcat to fix our yard. I think Grant had a lot of fun doing it. He was able to lay the grass seed RIGHT before it started pouring this afternoon.

Once the grass grows, we have a playset for Bailey that will go back there. We'll also set up her little pool and little toys. I can't wait!

And the biggest thing that happened today:
We said goodbye to the rat tail! I almost cried when I did it. I grabbed the scissors and cut it before I lost my nerve. Grant missed it because I did it so fast. It looks pretty good and we're hoping that her hair will now grow. It's been at a standstill for so long.

She's still happy, even if her main curl is gone.

My masterpiece

This is my very first "from scratch" banana bread! I am not a "from scratch" kinda gal. Ingredients can get to be expensive, especially if I'm only going to use them once. So I tend to stick with boxes and cheap meals. Anyway, it's super moist and pretty good. I think it's lacking a little something in flavor but that's the recipe. Next time I'll try my mom's recipe.

Onto other things...

This has now graced it's presence in our home. Bailey has been walking around saying "I pee pee", "I go pee pee". So we bought her a potty and we're gonna go from there. I'm hoping if we get her potty trained enough, she won't "revert" when the baby gets here.
Baby # 2 has made its presence known! I was laying in bed the other night, sort of on my tummy and I felt a GOOD thump. Not a flutter, but a thump! I'm only 11 weeks so I thought that was a little early, but whatever!
Well Daddy has the day off today, so we are going to Olive Garden! I haven't been since high school and have REALLY been wanting to go.

Toddler's perception

The other day I went and bought a plain, blue "bubble" bath mat from Walmart for Bailey's bath tub. She tries to stand to put her stickers on the wall and slips. So I wanted to keep her from slipping. I even left the mat at Walmart after I'd already paid for it, so had to make a return trip and convince them that I had actually forgotten it. Wouldn't you know she's TERRIFIED of the dang mat?! She starts freaking out and trying to jump out of the tub. After I took it out, she was a little bit better. In the middle of getting washed she signed "all done". It was so cute, I had to laugh. I don't know what I'm going to do with this child~I guess I'll have to just take her outside and hose her down from now on...

Our weekend

Saturday we went to a baby shower for our friends and next door neighbors' Micah and Carrie. They are having their 2nd baby boy "Sam" in July. Bailey was in a good mood, even though she had only had a five minute nap in the car.

We were so tired we stayed home from church today. I'm preparing the house for the kids coming on Tuesday. This means cleaning out our bathroom and playroom closets. Tomorrow I'll clean out our desk and move everything to a smaller desk that will be in the living room. This way the playroom is strictly the playroom, until it becomes Bailey's big girl room.
Bailey has been such a good girl while I've been cleaning. She did get a little bored. She decided to "paint" herself and her highchair with her sweet potatoes. Luckily Daddy will get her bath tonight!

Here is my clean and organized playroom closet. It's got my nap mats and craft supplies for my kiddos.
This is what I have left to clean. And this is only half of what I've pulled out!! I've got 3-4 trash bags and boxes full of clothes that need to be sorted for a garage sale or goodwill. Now is the time that I wish I was Samantha or Sabrina so I could just twitch my nose or point my finger and everything would be clean!

Mommy's Bribery

We've had trouble with baths the past few days, so I got her something new to play with. These are foam "stickers" that stick to the bath wall when they're wet. She LOVED them. She was too busy to actually look at me.

In case you haven't noticed, I'm HORRIBLE at taking pictures. Sadly, I've gotten a lot better since I had Bailey. I take my camera most of the time, but it never makes it out of my bag. So I'm trying to be better. These are some pictures from just a minute ago. She has been pushing Elmo around on her new toy. He seems to like it.

She's fixing herself a little snack. I worked hard and made some super silly, embaressing noises to get a picture of her smiling, but dropped my camera before it had a chance to process it. GRRR!
These pictures have come to you despite some pretty intense nausea right now, so ENJOY!!

Quick update

It won't let me upload pictures, so...sorry!

There hasn't been too much going on this week. I've been very blah. I have no energy, motivation, drive, whatever to do anything. My summer speech class started on Monday and I am really dreading it. I guess that's why I've put it off for 4 years.

Today was our last day of MDO. Kind of sad, but not really. I'm keeping some of my munchkins through the summer on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It'll be nice to have a little break from having to figure out curriculum and crafts.

Bailey has recovered 100% from her high fevers and "throat infection". She is just glued to me, which makes it really hard to keep up with housework. She has her own mind and is not afraid to let me know. Ask her a question and the answer is "no" 97% of the time. And she really means it. Trust me! I asked her if she wanted to ride in the buggy at Walmart, which of course got me a "no". So I tried to put her in anyway and she pitched a fit. She did really well walking with me. We got a lot of compliments on how she was staying by my side.

Well that's all that's really going on..I'll try another time to get a few pictures on here.

My little stinker

It is such a pleasure to be to this point. She gets so excited for her baths. She actually gets mad if I don't strip her down fast enough. Sometimes she doesn't even want toys, just to sit in the water. It's all good until you try to wash her hair.

This is where we started.

This was her first bath, but most of the baths she's had in her lifetime were spent like this. It was just harder to grab the camera when she's screaming bloody murder and trying to jump out of the tub. We later figured out that she was terrified of the bubbles from her soap. She would go through periods where she liked her bath for about a week or so, then she hated it again. That's how it is with everything with her, bedtime, foods, toys, everything. They all come in phases.

Well I'm excited to post the picture of our Mother's day gifts for Nana and Grandmother, but you'll have to wait until tomorrow! ;)

A whole lot of BLAH!

No pictures on this one! Sorry! Just wanted to give a quick update. Bailey started getting sick last Wednesday night, so we went to the Dr. on Thursday. She had a double ear infection and was put on antibiotics. Then I have not been feeling good for the past week. I'm EXHAUSTED, very cranky, and nauseous all the time. My body has been holding onto every ounce of fluid I put in, so I am also very bloated and very uncomfortable. All the joys of pregnancy!

Yesterday afternoon, Bailey started running another fever. It stayed around 102. So, this morning around 5 I ran to Kroger and got some motrin, which brought her fever down to 99. I thought maybe it was her teeth and she was fine. But at school her teacher brought her to me and I checked her temp. It was 104.8! I about freaked out. I did what I could to cool her down and we're relaxing this afternoon. Tomorrow morning we are going to the Dr. to see what is going on with her. So nothing too exciting going on..I haven't been taking pictures. Promise I will get some on here soon!
