Austin's 1st "Official" haircut

Our sweet, sweet boy was beginning to look like a sweet little girl, w/ his hair that went so nicely behind his ears. So Mommy and Daddy decided it was time for a haircut. I honestly didn't think he would do that great, but I had no idea he'd react so strongly.

As you can see, he wasn't too thrilled.

He REALLY wasn't thrilled! These are the only two pics we got of the "during" b/c it took both of us to hold him down. Grant stood up and held him, while holding his head still, and I held his hands away. And of course we went at the time when there were a lot of people there. He screamed like we were torturing him, but I really don't expect anything different from our children.

And the "after":

He dried up pretty quickly!

He looks so cute!!! Austin reminds me so much of Parker when he was younger. For a very long time we had to take Parker to the kids salon (Snip-its) all the way in Franklin for his haircuts because they were the only one with a "seatbelt" in their chairs. He even vomited the first time (or maybe it was the second) because he was so upset and screaming like you wouldn't believe! After a few haircuts by the same awesome lady he started doing much better. Now we can go to local places and he hops right up in the chair and only freaks out about the squirt bottle (so I usually tell them not to spray it, no biggie) I never thought the day would come where he wouldn't need to be strapped into a chair for haircuts but it has! It may take Austin a couple of times but he'll get better. And if you are ever in the Franklin area, take him to Snip-its, they have experience with screaming kids ;)
